Let the chicken just hang out while you prep and pre-cook the sweet potatoes. I cut the potatoes into thicker matchsticks, kind of like fries. Then toss with seasoned salt (I do a homemade blend) and pepper.

Bake the potatoes for a few minutes to get them cooking. Then slide them to one side of the pan and add the chicken plus lemon wedges to the other side. Then just throw everything back into the oven to finish cooking.

This a great chicken recipe! I agree with other reviewers that the chicken is better cut in bigger pieces and I cooked the sweet potatoes separately since we prefer them crispy. Also, I could not get the green goddess to thin out enough to be blended properly in the blender, even adding more lemon juice and some water (and my avocados were ripe!). Not sure how to fix that for next time. Thanks!

The results are always delightful, exactly what you would ever wish for when having roasted chicken: tender, juicy meat and crispy skin, a lot of flavors, and heartiness. And that expressly, you will definitely need less time for roasted half chicken than you would need for a whole chicken. Or try some Tender Pan-Fried Chicken Thighs.

This was SO GOOD!! I received a few half chickens from my CSA and I was stumped. Your olive oil/paprika mixture is absolutely delicious and simple and I'm just so happy I found your recipe and I apologize for the longest sentence ever. Thank you for making dinner easy tonight!

You got your sheet pan? Great. Now add some chicken breasts and season them well with plenty of garlic, smoked paprika (very important for flavor), cumin, and lemon. Add sweet potatoes, sesame seeds, and olive oil. Toss, toss, toss. Then roast in the oven until the chicken is cooked and the sweet potatoes are charring on the edges.

While the chicken is roasting, mix up a simple arugula and sun-dried tomato salad. Locate some hummus (yes, store bought is totally fine), slice up some cucumbers, and crumble some feta. Once the chicken and sweet potatoes have finished cooking, toss everything together.

Hey MJ,Thanks so much for making this recipe and sharing your feedback! I am no surprised with all of the juices coming from that amount of chicken:) So glad to hear everything was enjoyed! xTieghan

Hey Valerie,Happy Sunday!! I am thrilled to hear that this recipe was enjoyed, thanks so much for making it! I would just does the chickpeas in the same seasoning as the sweet potatoes. xTieghan

You only need to bake these for 30 minutes. Typically sweet potatoes take 60-90 minutes to bake in the oven. But you can make sweet potatoes in a fraction of the time if you cut the sweet potato in half. This is definitely the fastest way to bake a whole sweet potato.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.Rinse and scrub potatoes and cut in half length wise.Rub the sweet potatoes on both sides with olive oil and sprinkle cajun seasoning, salt and pepper on both sides. Place the sweet potatoes middle side down on the prepared baking sheet.Bake the sweet potatoes in the oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the sweet potatoes are fork tender.

So easy to make i used sweet baby rays bbq sauce cooked chicken for 1 hr after 45 mins I brushed on more sauce. Rested chicken for 5 mins before serving. Made with parmesan potato wedges and mixed greens

Toss sweet potatoes and onion in a bowl with the remaining 1 tablespoon oil and 1/4 teaspoon each salt and pepper. Carefully remove the baking sheet from the oven and spread the vegetables on it. Place the chicken on top of the vegetables.

Return the pan to the oven and roast, stirring the vegetables once halfway through, until the vegetables are tender and beginning to brown and an instant-read thermometer inserted into a chicken thigh registers 165 degrees F, 30 to 35 minutes.

My family and I really love this recipe. I did not change a thing. The chicken was juicy and savory and the onion and sweet potato combination went perfect. I added some pan cooked baby spinage in a Lil olive oil as another veggie.. Delicious and healthy!!

I used boneless chicken thighs. Didn't have wholegrain mustard so I used French's honey mustard. Added some grated ginger to the marinade as well as the sweet potatoes. I also added one white potato and a handful of green peppers. For my salad, I added some kale, tomato, a date an some parsley. Everything tasted delicious. However, it was not very filling. My sweet potatoes finished quickly and I had to look for another side to go with the chicken. Does healthy mean still hungry?

Great recipe, easy and tasty. I can't stand sweet potatoes so.used regular russet and they were outstanding. I also.doubled cooking time, turning.down the oven to.350 after 45 degrees, and then roasted for another 45 minutes.

This is the third time that my family has had this recipe and it is absolutely phenomenally delicious. I have doubled it each time I made it. I also substituted yellow sweet onion instead of red onion, because I find it compliments the sweet potatos better. The flavor is so delicious and the chicken is tender and juicy, and the vegetables are fork tender with wonderful peppery flavor. We absolutely love this.

Made this recipe last night, came out amazing. The onions looked and tasted caramelized with light seasoning. i cut my chicken in thinner halves and took 35-40 min to cook. i recommend the whole grain mustard, soooo goooddd

This recipe is absolutely delicious! I overcooked the chicken breasts by accident because I was working out at the same time plus I didn't have a thermometer to check the inside temperature of the chicken however our roasted sweet potatoes came out soooo good!! The morning after, I used the sweet potatoes with my scrambled eggs and it was literally amazing. I'll definitely be using this recipe again!

I followed the directions exactly and thought the flavor of the chicken was too strong. I did really enjoy the sweet potatoes and onions. However my daughter and my husband didn't like the dish at all.

Great veggies and chicken My whole family loved this and it will be added to our rotation. I really liked the sweet potatoes, and I am not a big sweet potato fan. The chicken was moist and flavorful. Pros: Not that hard to make, best sweet potatoes

One of the best This is one of our favorite Eating Well recipes. It is easy and the flavors are outstanding. Cooking to 165 is perfect for the thighs. Sweet potatoes (garnet yams) are nice and healthy and with red onions make for a beautiful place. Great with broccoli, broccolini, or some other bitter green to off set all the caramelized sweetness. Highly recommend. Pros: Quick, easy, tastes great, little cleanup

Listen, here is the thing, I love sweet potatoes and I love the subtle sweetness they have all on their own so this roasted sweet potato recipe has just the right amount of sweet and spicy that will make your mouth water.

With just a touch of brown sugar and honey, along with some chipotle pepper and chili paste these roasted sweet potato cubes come out sweet and spicy with just the right amount of crispy texture on the outside to melt in your mouth.

Juicy, Tender Meat. Grilled whole chickens result in very tender meat throughout and retain all the moisture that makes poultry a household favorite. Cutting the chickens in half will allow you to easily fit the split chicken on your grill and cook it more quickly without losing out on taste.

Heat the oven to 325 degrees and cook the chicken with no sauce added for 30 minutes. Transfer the chicken to a medium high heat grill where you will finish cooking and applying the sauce right before the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.

Grilled half chicken should be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator and will keep for two or three days. You have two choices. You could cut the chicken into pieces and keep them on the bone for reheating to use for lunches. Alternatively, you might cut the chicken off the bone and dice it up so that it is easy to use in future recipes.

Cutting chicken in half is easy when you follow the simple steps on our recipe card. Make sure you have a sharp knife or kitchen shears. You can cut the chicken in half as soon as you purchase it so that it is ready to grill when you come home from work. Make sure to keep the cut chicken halves in a sealed plastic bag in your refrigerater.

If removed from the bone, bbq chicken half can be frozen in freezer-safe baggies or containers and used in future recipes such as tacos, rice bowls, salads, quesadillas, or soups. It will keep for up to three months in the freezer.

Serve the grilled chicken alongside mashed potatoes or potato salad, roasted vegetables or a green salad, biscuits or a loaf of crusty bread, grilled corn on the cob, or creamed corn. The possibilities are endless and this meal will always be the best kind of comfort food.

The secret to creating the best and quickest baked sweet potatoes is to first slice each potato in half. Sweet potatoes are an incredibly large and dense vegetable, in their raw state, which means they take forever to fully cook. When the sweet potatoes are halved, the baking time is dramatically reduced.

Been wanting BBQ chicken for awhile, but scared of the grill, I found your recipe and tried it and it was fabulous!! Made the barbecue sauce too! No leftovers and the skin was absolutely delicious ? thank you for sharing your delicious recipe.

This was great! I did a quick brine using 40 aprons brine recipe. I used less salt and added smoked paprika to the spice rub. I used a keto-friendly BBQ sauce I recently bought from Costco on both sides of the bird. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. Thanks for the clear instructions! 2ff7e9595c
